I'm not sure that this is related to your problem, but did you use setskill to skill up in things that your race/class wouldn't normally be able to do (like bash for a gnome mage)?

We're planning to doing heavy coordinated performance/network testing soon, probably this weekend. Hang tight, we're looking into it.

I haven't had time to look into this yet, so I want to be very clear that it is just something that I'd check out and not that it is something that I know to be problematic. However, there may be issues with automatic melee skills. This part is rather embarassing, but I haven't really played too much EQ. I was under the impression, though, that some of the melee skills (maybe reposte or double attack?) are automatic. I would suggest that you make a new character, being very careful to only set its skills to within normal EQ values (no #setallskill) for that class/race combo (and of course don't switch that char's class after creation or anything). You'll probably need to keep a list of skillnames/numbers handy to make sure that you get it right. Then, if everything works as it should (or as well as you'd expect for pre 1.0 EQEmu), try adding back the automatic melee skills and trying again. Please post your results - I'm curious. Maybe if you follow this procedure carefully, you can prevent my having to look into it further.
