Default EQhost.txt please confirm if this file text is correct

[Registration Servers]
{
"eqlogin1.eqemu.net:5997"
}
[Login Servers]
{
"eqlogin1.eqemu.net:5997"
"eqlogin2.eqemu.net:5997"
}

I had to manually edit this file the port numbers were 5999 (i'm assuming 5999 is a port number) and I edited them to 5997 as it it should be in the tutorial.

I'm unable to bring up a server list, in fact I cannot even connect I keep getting error 1001

i doubt you did it.
you have to launch 'eqgame.exe' with 'patchme' as parameter if you want to play with eqemu, i won't tell you how since its written in many tutorials and prolly covered 1032 or more times in the forum, I advise you to do use the search button, this will learn you the basics of 'how to use a forum'.

use eqlogin3.eqemulator.net if you are having issues.
