Hello i was wondering if, since i am just now starting emu and if i install the new patch it breaks the code, if there was a way for me to obtain the old patch version and install that instead of the new 1 that screws up emu!
Thanks

Nope, sorry your SOL.

When things like this happens you just have to wait till the Devs update EQEmu to figure out the changes and make it work with the patched EQ again. This is actually a sensative subject, since LOTS of people ask it each time a patch break the emu. The fact that people inevatably ask for the old files that worked is also part of why. Asking for Sony EQ files is aginst the rules and banable because it is distributing files owned by Sony.

Yes, but don't announce you're downloading warez. Not the smartest thing to do... :P

Bah I can't believe how stupid I am

I carefully backup up my EQ folder before the patch.
Then I downloaded the GoD patch.

Then it occured to me that my backup didn't have the patch so I'd better update it...

Ah well, having to wait for the servers to work with the new patch will teach me not to be so stupid next time :(

so...a site that is created for the sole purpose of fuking with SOE and having a free server which saves you 13 dollars every month is opposed to someone downloading a game?

This site is not here for the sole purpose of bilking sony out of 10$ a month. Many people who play here also play on EQ Live. The major reason this site is here is because of customization. People want to be able to make their version of EQ and play it instead of the standara game. Wether that involves recreating the world like Winter's Roar or adding higher levels like Scorpious2k or jus having GM controls like many servers do, people want to try new versions of EQ. Thats the sites reason for being and they don't want ot bilk Sony out of money cause then Sony would shut them down so they require us to buy the game and encourage people to still play on Live. In fact the developers and data collectors have to play on Live some tiems to get the latest packet info that its sending so that the servers can keep up with the patches.

Personally, Im a big fan of Sony/Verant in general, I want to see EQ prosper.

They built a great game, else why would we devote so much time emulating it ?

I recommend people buy the everquest game rather than downloading.. try the free month on eqlive and see if you like it, my stepson and I played together for a long time on it , and had a blast. It did get boring to me at the higher levels, but what a great ride on the way up..

I think what he meant by 'downloading' meant that he'd used the patcher to download the new content. At least that's how I percieved it.
