Default Possible 5.5dr1 bug

Im using MS visual .net 2003 to compile using all the default compile options except i go with release format.

I did a complete pulldown from CVS on march 1st at noon CST

The problem is after i compile binaries and transfer them to server, world.exe and zones come up fine and everything seems fine.

However when you go to world select screen with client you cant see my server up at all. Tried using minilogin setup also, same thing no world on select screen.

Doing a netstat reveals that their is in fact no connection going between world and login server.

I can switch to 5.3dr2 binaries and everything works fine, world shows up on select screen just fine....

Try making a MiniLogin server and if it appears there. If it does, check your ini files make sure you haven't made a simple (but hard to stop) mistake, such as a space somewhere where there shouldn't be.

If it doesn't work, redownload CVS and compile?

I'm using minilogin and I had the same problem. I solved it by puting the [ChatChannelServer] at the end of the LoginServer.ini file after observing that world.exe mentioned that something like that was missing from the .ini file.

Hope this works for you.
