Default Sweeeeet!!!

Followed directions exactly. And came up with Eqmu log-in servers. I have a reeeeeally noobish question though. Im not sure which server to pick that would have the best ping for me.

I mean.. Ive played EQlive based on which server I started initially years ago on. How do I tell based on log-in server select screen which one bests fits me?

And how difficult is it to run your own server? Maybe not even a server that other people would be able to connect to.. but one that I can use myself.

Ty soo much. And I like the EQemu idea.. keep up the good work

That's a good question. No way yet AFAIK, except tracing the packets when you've logged in.

Have a look at the server comments forum. It'll give you an idea of how it's going on, and what people play which server.

Be prepared to search nights and days for untold information, experience defeats and, ... be patient. It's a quest in itself.

well.. that exitement was short-lived.

Got alot of "world is down". And some as soon as I would connect would pop me back at the connection screen. I was able to get into a few servers... which I couldn't control anything more than what I could control on EQLive. One server I was able to change my skills, and summon items to me (But I couldn't change my lvl, so I couldn't wear any of the equipment =P).

Im going to go ahead and edit this.. because I have been messing around and reading within the post and learning more. I guess I can only play in the 5.5, and the certain type of Server I would want to play in is a "Non-Legit" one. Semi Legit seem ok.. but I dont think I would want to go through with all the xp'n again on a non-pure EQ server.

What I havn't figured out is why I get client crashes before my character comes in the world on some servers. On other servers I can get in just fine.. others it just crashes (Im figuring server stability). And also getting messages that "world is down" (which I think is because of connection issues?)

On some servers running 5.5, when a character is made, just as it gets ready to upload to the server, it crashes the world. I'll be compiling a list of races/classes that work or crash the server. I'm not sure if it just has to do with the class/race combo or the start location, but I figure I'll give everyone a list anyway.
