I am new here and was having the same problem. I noticed after running the patcher the eqhost settings were reset to their original values. With the patcher up I reset them to

[Registration Servers]
{
"register.eqemulator.net:5999"
}
[Login Servers]
{
"eqlogin1.eqemulator.net:5997"
"eqlogin2.eqemulator.net:5997"
"eqlogin3.eqemulator.net:5997"
}

and my key worked.

Hope it helps

I am having the same problem. I am positive i have done everything correctly, but still i get the error bad username/password when i try to log in. Only thing i can think of is that the login server is not recognising new accounts. :cry:

ok now im just annoyed, now when i run eq using the copy i made and when i added patchme to it, it runs like its the FIRST time iv ever ran eq, and has the backgrown of the velius expansion. When i try to make a new account, it sais no eqhost.txt file found, but i can log into normal eq with no problems

Sounds like your install of EQ might be messed up. I know it's a pain but I'd say reinstall and see if that helps.

Also, make sure your EQEMu shortcut points to "EverQuest\EQGame.exe patchme" instead of "Everquest\Everquest.exe" or Everquest\Everquest.exe patchme"
