Default Help with Server Set up

I'm makin a server just to play around with and work on my programming skills. I'm following the "HOWTO: Host&Play on same PC - Step by Step" and the Big Lan Book. Right now, i've followed everything up to creating the EQ DB (in the big lan book). I've been playing around with shutting off the mysql programs (the traffic light things in the tool bar, they dissappear after awhile and i want to shut them down: they're doubling my cpu usage)...anyway, i right click on the traffic light and do "show me" i goto the DB tab and right click, but i only get the Flush commands, no "create DB".

EDIT- I started to follow HOWTO: Setup a server with EQEmu 5.X
and that began to clear things up, but i'm ready to start with world.exe and an error pops up tellin me that it won't except the password given.

Any help would be great. thanks

Did you run the GRANT statement to create an EQEMu DB user?

Quote:
USE mysql;
GRANT ALL ON eq.* TO 'user'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY 'password' WITH GRANT OPTION;
Just be sure to replace the yellow text with the actual username and passwords you're using.

yea, i did, 2 times. But just this morning i got the grant command working...

I just have some random questions now:

How do i update from 5.X to 5.Y easily?
-----------------
I looked through the files of what i downloaded and i only see a few zone files and nothing about classes or anything like that, did i install the wrong file? I downloaded:

[1.] MySQL 4.0.18

[2.] EQEmu 0.5.6 --- Download EQEmu-0.5.6-Win32.zip and EQEmu-0.5.6-Configuration.zip

[3.] MW055_alpha_02.zip

[4.] doorupdate-03-15-04.sql

[5.] EQEmu.missing.files.rar

from the HOWTO: Host&Play on same PC -Step by Step- (MiniLogin).
---------------
Also, when i create the server and start using the item editor and programs, do i need to connect my EQ files to my server files? atm, i'm getting an error when trying to access my server db.

Thanks.
