I updated Everquest before changing any of the files.

Did not have datarate.txt as default so I wrote one. Not sure if this means anything.

Eqhost.txt will change to default if I don't check file as Read-Only.

What I did:

Eqhost.txt(file attribute as read-only)~~

eqlsClient.ini~~
Replaced with the following:
http://www.eqemulator.net/eqlsClient.ini

Shortcut of eqgame on desktop with patchme at the end like eqgame.exe" patchme

I started up Everquest with the Patchme shortcut.

Clicked Account

This is where the problem occurs. IE pops up with SOE Account log-in page. Everytime.

Yep... edited above post with all current info. I was all over that page the very moment I made this thread.

Note:

Everquest was completely updated before changing any file.

Virus... Where do we check on current patch info?

Anyone new will have the same problem I'm having until the new patch is fixed.

SOE has changed some settings or the way you sign up. The old file, s989reg.txt, is connected to the way of registering before the newest patch was implemented. There must be a new file or some code in one of the files that must be reverted back. If anyone can figure this out, let me know. I'll be in the IRC checking on this.

The front page of the web site will have a new news item as soon as there is a release compatible with the latest client. Theres no way to tell how long it will be ebcause it depends on how much broke and how much free time the devs have and whether Sony comes out wiht a new patch to break even more before then.

Yep... found that out earlier, today.

They have also fixed it so, after downloading their updated eqmain.dll... the EQEmu account page pops up instead of the SOE one. Not sure who has it for downloading. Anyhow... I've gotten it all worked out and I'm playing on EQemu, now.
