Having trouble installing EQEmu and logging in?

Ok after carefully thinking about it over and over....

So how can I post the information on how to get up and running WITHOUT this board thinking it is warez?

No Warez (No Discussion or Providing of Warez). Warez is any file that has been obtained without purchase from the company or a "legit" vendor, or without the sole permission of the owner, or company is considered illegal and is not permitted on these forums. This also includes all EQ files and also means do NOT ask, give out, host, or in some other way promote the giving out of these files. This includes but is not limited to: The EQ Patcher, eqgame.exe, eqmain.dll, spdat.eff, cshome.s3d, cshome_chr.s3d, or ANY file downloaded with the Verant EQ Patcher (aka Everquest.exe) with the exeption of files that can be re-created within 10 seconds by hand (this means eqhost.txt is okay).

The fix I am offering belongs to me. I am the sole owner.

Not trying to start a flame here but as many people on this board trying to find fixes to their system... I was offering them help.

It is called Warez because the forum rules say it is Warez and that it is a bannable offense here. Just asking for patch files is a bannable offense also. If you don't agree with it argue with the devs. And there are already servers with their own patchers on their websites that fix it if people want to play on those servers. That is OK as long as no one directly links to the file like you did and jsut links to the server's page because there is not a link to it here which covers the Emu somewhat if Sony wants to come after someone.

Thanks for clarification then. So it is safe to say that if people are looking for a fix then they can go to http://66.70.227.156 ? That should cover the legality aspect of it.

Your missing the point, you are not allowed to post links to warez reguardless of how you word it.

Just promoting my site at the moment. Not providing warez directed link to a file.

Its also against the rules to promote sites that aren't for EQEmu servers which is why server sites are fine and yours is not.

Well obviously you don't check the server list very often. My server has been up on the server list for quite awhile now.

My bad, you're right that I never look at the server list. I play and GM on Scorp2k only ebcause its the best and don't look at others. And i saw it was just an IP and didn't think it would be a server page because most servers have some sort of free domain name that points to them.

Its ok. You are right... Scorpious is a great server and perhaps the best one. I run my server for just fun and play on Scorpious server. I hope to have my server as developed as Scorpious in the future.
