Default Request about Dev. Position

G'day,
I would like to inquire about a position on the Development Team for Eqemu. As a current player of Everquest, ex-guide, programmer, and IT specialist I think I could contribuite my efforts to the program and I would enjoy doing just that. I know most programming languages e.g Delphi, C, C++, VB 6.0, Perl, Scheme, Java, XML, ColdFusion and others. If you guys could use the help I would be able to fill a Programmer, and IT Specialist, and always offer ideas about the development. I currently work at AJD Industries in Wellington, NZ. If you need anymore information I can be reached at "wyleecoyote45@aol.com".

Thanks,
-Andrew-

While you wait, I'm sure the community at large could make use of whatever talents you have. Download the source and do a search for TODO, DIRTY-HACK, NEEDS DONE, or "WTF WAS MALV THINKING". There's plenty in the source that needs done still

He's got you there. AOL is not a cool program. Regardless of what millions of people say.

Default Re: to age and current job question

I am currently 19 years of age, my birthday is 04/21/83. I was just intorduced to this forum and used my neighboors computer to post the thread, he was already logged on and I figured I had might as well since it would just take more time to fill out a registration form. He didn't care, sorry about the confusion mate, I can see where that would present a problem. The company AJD Industries is not even a registered business, mainly about me and ten friends of mine, all the same age, and my uncle wanted to bounce Internet Access from Sydney, Australia to Wellington, NZ. Because their are no mainland wires only underwater cables and SIGINT ( Signals Intelligence ) connections, the cost of the monthly rate is quite high. So what we did was worked out a deal between two internet companies. One based in Syndey the other in Wellington. All we do is provide the "link" from point A to point B. By coordinating underwater cables and SIGINT using bandwith from each but not the full bandwith from either we create a low cost internet. We are paid by both companies to "up-keep" the appendage of both types of internet. We are in very basic terms the back-bone for the company in Wellington. Since neither has the funds to run our "middle-man" position by its-self without rasing prices, which they keep constant otherwise we back out of the deal, we run it ourselves and are paid a tribute of sorts to help with the cost of everything. My Uncle is a computer programmer / Network Specialist which helps alot with what were doing. I hope this helps, again you can contact me further at wyleecoyote45@aol.com

your post sounds good (except the AOL email ) but in general to become a dev, you need to code something first, to show your abillities. Just like Mal wrote: download the code, look for something todo and publish it on the board - then your chances are better .

Hey! AOL's not that bad... I have to keep it so my ex can use it for her dial up account.. Sometimes in the boonies, no one else has local access numbers.

AOL is good for what it does, providing a simple layer over the top of the net, and making an easy interface... My 65 year old mother wouldnt be able to navigate the net without it! It really does make it simple for the layman.. Personally, I use it when Im out of town on business with my laptop, they have local access numbers in every major city, and who the heck wants to pay long distance charges when you have 3 hours of telneting to do from a hotel room.

Its not the best, but it serves it's purposes...

i'v goten 5000 free hours in the last two days (two 1000 hour disks yesterday, and three today). no wonder AOL lost 55 billion dollars in the last three months (largest quarterly loss in history rofl)....

AOL is going down hard and fast.

I tell you though , they may be sinking fast, but I wish I had invested in them when they IPO'd.

They had phone support guys that were retiring after 10 years of service because of their stock options. 28 year old multimullionaires from answering phones for a decade!

All about being in the right place at the right time! LOL..
