Default Running more then one server

I am not sure if this is the forom this needs to be in so let me appoligize right off if its not . I am wondering if there is anyway that you can allow or make it so we can run more hten one server with out getting the ghost ip kick, I have a 5.7 that i really want to keep running while I am running a 5.8 I am not sure what the reason or purpose is behind not being able to run more hten one but if it can not be done can someone at least let me know why soi I can better understand , thanks

I did ponder this once but never tried it. Things I think you would need to alter in the source are the port World listens on (9000) and the shared memory routines. I did try compiling without shared memory support once but it seemed broken in the source when I tried ... not sure if it is fixed now. The shared memory issue only applies if you are trying to run both servers on the same PC.

I also wondered if the login server is hard coded to direct clients to port 9000 of the world server ....

I have extra puters sitting here so they would running on seperate puters but the same ip, it seems it is the EQEMu servers that wont allow me to have two from the same ip.

afaik it is in client, so no more than one server per ip :/

The world never sends the LS its port, only its IP... not sure if that's just because the LS assumes 9000 and sends that to the client... doesn't seem logical to assume that though.

There is now known bytes in the LS-client communication where port is sent. i assume it is hardcoded in the client

No it wont you would need a new loginserver the port number is hardcoded into the source of the world.exe and loginserver i think.
