Well, first off I'd like to admit I'm a complete n00b at running EQemu and have run into the error upon loading the Worlddebug.exe. Here's what it's listing and the place it says for me to visit looks like has expired or moved...

Check out THIS thread for your error... You also have a problem in your loginserver.ini..

I see that you are trying to run a 5.6 server.. Unless you have a compatible DB for that then you will also get that error..

Thank you for your prompt response... I did notice about the version that came up during world debug... however I'm afraid I'm not aware how to fix this exactly. The database that I populated the eq database with was PEQ_Classic_058.sql... here's what is in my loginserver.ini..

### --- This file tells world.exe what loginserver to connect to.
### --- Leave the account and password field BLANK.

### --- Public Login is un-supported as is LAN playing. We recommend using the eqemulator.

net Loginserver ALWAYS.

### --- NOTE: You can NOT use the word "Server" in worldname.
### --- NOTE2: the word "Server" is added to each server automatically.

You are trying to use a database that is NOT compatible with the version of the emu you are running.... Unless you are patched to the date that 5.6 was still good (equal with live) then you will also have problems connecting with your server when/if you get the server running correctly. I am not sure of the date that 5.6 was still compatible with the live client, as I was away from the boards during this period, but the best way to check is to read the changelog.txt file that comes with the source. Use the last date on that as a general rule of thumb that you have to be patched (your client) to around that time..

If in fact you CAN get a 5.6 DB, AND your client is of the right patch, then you need to change your loginserver.ini to port 5995 instead of 5997.... and you will also have to change your eqhost.txt file to reflect this change.....
