Default Server setup

which guide would u recomend for setting up a server because each one is different...calls for differnt programs and not all of them work?

Try THIS guide. It is still a good guide.. you will need to replace the loginserver.ini lines that read:
Code:
loginserver=eqlogin1.eqemulator.net 
loginport=5997
To:
Code:
newlogin1.eqemulator.net:5996
And dont forget you will have to changed your eqhost.txt in your everquest directory to reflect this change.

Once you get that up and running, you can always come back and compile the perl enabled binaries, and set up Perl for use on the server.. Till then I suggest you simply get the server up and running, populated and has playability...
