eqw question

not sure where I should post this so I put it in general :-/

I've been using eqw in 800x600 and that works the best but now everytime I use it in 800x600 it crashs when it's trying to load to the char select screen. and if I change it back to 800x600 while in the game it crashs eqw. I've try'd changing my backround size of my desktop and everything else I could think of if anyone knows how to fix this please help

did you patch on wens? If you did it could be why

also might make sure that desktop color is set to 16 bit it won't work on 32 bit.
