Default Cannot edit path

Ok, I had to reformat my hard drive and reinstall EverQuest.
The EQ Host Files did fine, then when I went to the eqgame.exe to get the patchme in the path, I can't edit the path... I use to, now I can't. I changed to the folder to the blob read only and still can't.
Any one know what I have to do?
