is there a guide to recompiling under windows? i have looked around and am stumped

Not really needed.. the vcprojects pretty much take care of themselves... load and go.

If you're playing with the code though, may I ask why you'd torture yourself with the newbie OS? Why aren't you running Linux?

Here is a basic howto for compiling with VS Express

You really just need to make sure the Library and Include directories are setup, then build.

Even though I am a *nix guy, I find compiling on windows to be easier than linux these days. Probably because I don't dual boot or run wine. I have a seperate linux server, but I can compile with VS faster than I can open a shell and log into my linux box.

Id love to learn linux but ive never had a spare machine the computers i use are windows based because the world is
