Default Unable to get beyond server select with error:

The exception unknown software exception (0xc0000005) occurred in the application at location 0x10001c6b. click to terminate the program

That happens on my Vista machine.

On my XP machine I never get past double clicking the desktop shortcut, it tells me "eqgame.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

For Vista have you tried disabling UAC or running the program as an administrator?

UAC stands for User Access Control, it is a security feature in Vista and Windows 7 that was intended to hinder hackers, viruses, spyware and malware from damaging your OS but it can also hinder normal program function.

Go into the control panel, find the User Accounts icon and open it, you should see the option: turn User Account control on or off. Do just that and turn it off and you will have to restart for it to take effect.

You can box multiple characters from the same computer. If your computer can run Vista then you should be able to multi box toons without any trouble. I think the only limit on boxing from a single EQ install on a single computer is the computer hardware itself.

Personally, I have only boxed three toons at a time but I know others have done 6+ on a single computer.
