Default Windows 7 Laptop WIll not load

I have been searching through the forums and have tried adjusting resolution, the eqoptions...

Running an AMD Athlon 1.60GhZ, 3GB ram
64-bit OS
Windows 7

Installed and did everything the same as what I did with my XP desktop.

Differences noticed, when I made the shortcut it shows as everquest.exe.exe before the patchme
try to remove one of the exe's and it says path becomes invalid

then when I click it to run it pops up with Do you want to allow the followin program from an unknown pulisher to make changes to the computer.
Click Yes flips to 640x480 mode, then it thinks and does nothing, before flipping back to original resolution.

If I have missed something please let me know

I just can't figure this out.

Your shortcut should be pointing to eqgame.exe and not everquest.exe.

You did not say what kind of video video card you have, its amount of RAM or driver revision for the video. i can matter. you can look to SoE's tech to see if your video card is supported and which drivers they reccomend. usually the latest,

u tried running as Administrator and/or in Windows XP SP3 compatibility?

Check your eqclient and make certain your game resolution is a setting your video card can handle. i usually just set it to 1024x768 and then change it once i get in game.

if that fails...

on some Windows 7 (and even vista) machines, Everquest will not run from Program Files(x86)\Sony\Everquest....

i have had to install, or simply move my Sony folder to C:\sony and then point my eqgame shortcut point to the new directory, adding patchme.
