Default New to EQEmu

Is there a "about eq emu" page or something that I can use to get familiarized about it? Also it says here that it recommends not to patch, so can I make a new installment of EQ in a different folder and use that?

Having 2 folders of EQ installed on your computer is a good thing to do, they recommend it so if you patch, it won't mess up the emu. If it patches and it does work, then go ahead and patch.

About the emu - Its mainly just an Emulator for Everquest which allows you to play on free servers. Its not like the "real" EverQuest which you have to pay for, its one that other users design. It is an Open Source project, so if you know any coding, they could probably use the help. It is also fairly easy to set up your own server, just follow the readme step by step and you will have it, it explains it pretty well, it also tells you which files you need to have before you can set up a server.
