Game hangs at startup only on 1 account

Hi everyone....first off the facts...

I'm using underfoot client. I have 4 accounts. 3 of my accounts have no problem logging in and running the game. My one account cannot login. I select EZ server and get to the loading character screen and it hangs every time at about 15% in. I have to use ctrl-alt-del to get out and then I get a windows application error: the instruction at 0x06724c78 referenced memory at 0x000000ad. The memory could not be read.

The strange thing is that none of my other account have an issue logging into the game. Its just this one account. Please don't tell me its my comp because all my other accounts play the game just fine on EZ.

It has to be an issue with or within that one account. I did play the game on project 1999 for some time with that account, but I also played that server on my other account, so I'm confused.

I tried removing all the toons and UI files and that still made no difference. If anyone can shed some light on this, I would appreciate it.

Maybe I need a GM to do something to my 1 account...they can contact me at my registered email.

Since this is ezserver specific you should probably ask on their forums. When you get there, you'll see a character mover tool. Use it.

I've been asking everywhere for weeks and finally decided to post it here as well. I have yet to find anyone else with a similar problem. I can login to the account on titanium and move the characters, so I doubt that is an issue, but I will try it anyway. At this point I"m willing to try most anything.

By the way, I'm running windows 7 home premium 32-bit. Thanks.

Since you have Win7, it may be a UI issue. Clear out the UI files. If you have the directory in Program Files, don't forget to clear out the VirtualStore folder.

In the original post I stated that I cleared out the UI files. The directory is C:/Games:/Everquest. Thanks for the reply.

Are you able to log that account in on other servers? If so, the issue is EZ specific and it will have to be resolved by either you on your client or by Hunter on the EZ server. If you are using any 3rd party programs, even WinEQ, I suggest you try disabling them and see if that makes any difference. They could be causing a shared UI or ini file to be loaded that is causing the problem even after you deleted them from your EQ folder.

Yes, I am able to log that account on every other server, so yes, it is EZ specific. No, I am not running any 3rd party add-ons. I posted this on EZ server, but have not had any luck getting an answer. Thanks for your reply.

You may want to check out this thread that is related to issues on a single character due to UI and ini files:

If you run MQ or WinEQ or any other 3rd party software for EQ, try disabling them and see if you still have the issue.

I looked at the thread, but my issue is completely different. They had problems with a single character. My problem is with the entire account. I never even get to the character select screen. Thanks
