Blank Screen when trying to run

Hey all. I'm new here and I've just downloaded and installed everything per the README file (did not patch or run client, created account on forums, created my login account, modified shortcut, etc). Each time I try to run the game, I get a blank black screen. Nothing at all.

I've tried running in compatibility mode in all available versions of Windows in the pull-down. No joy. I've also tried using RunFirst.exe..... still no joy.

I'm running Window 7 64-bit.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

There is no readme that comes with any of the clients supported on this site. The only install directions are here:

If you have a readme, then I assume you are using an illegally attained version of the client. We do not support illegal software on these forums for multiple reasons.

I misspoke in my initial post. Sorry. I was reading the installation directions at the link you posted. I then tried the various fixes to no avail.

I ended up figuring it out on my own though. Once I get the black screen, I hit ALT+ENTER and it goes into windowed mode and I can see everything just fine.

Thank you for posting this it was driving me nuts (sometimes it's the simplest things that do).
