Default 1010 error, tried everything!

Everytime I try to get the game running, I get a 1010 error:

Error 1010: No host was found!
Check that the file EQHOST>TXT exists
in the Everqust directory

I have tried to run it the "patchme" way as well as the eqw way to no avail. I have read and reread the readme, read through the posts and the only mention of this error did not provide the solution for this problem. I have tried everything that I could think of and it just wont work. I am running an p3 866 with 256 ram and win xp, although I don't believe that will affect this particular situation. If anybody knows what I can do to remedy this, please let me know. Thanks.

Ok, am I to assume that no one else has encountered the same problem other than the other thread that received no reply or is this a situation that does not warrant a response from any of the other people who are trying to get this thing working. I don't want to sound bad but i am getting a little frustrated with this emu. I have replaced the eqhost.txt with exactly what I was supposed to as per the readme. I have attempted to create my own server with minilogin and everything seems to work properly other than the fact that that crappy 1010 error keeps showing up. Why would that be happening if I have followed the instructions in the readme?

ok tell us exactly what you are trying to do, create a local server, or connect to the eqemu server? and which file is saying that error, or is EQ saying, it, and do what it says, make sure your eqhost.txt is in your EQ directory... after you give me that info I will try to help you.

Ok, I first tried to connect to the eqemu server and recvd the 1010 error. The eqhost.txt is in the directory. I tried to connect to the server both by using eqw and when that didnt work, i tried to connect using the patchme method. I have tried everything and just cant figure out what is going on. I think everquest hates me. (; I'm just getting pretty confused at this point.
