How can I fix this issue, please help. I have windows 8.

I believe you're asking the wrong people, as the launcher isn't widely accepted, I would recommend talking to the makers of it, as you would have better luck.

There is a bug with appearances on the old launcher.

I think this is most likely due to having your display settings set to Medium or Larger.

Start->Control Panel->Display->Make Text and other items larger or smaller

Choose smaller and I believe it will appear correctly.
