Are you behind a firewall, on a lan, is your server on a different machine on your network than the one from which you're trying to play from?

Next step would be to post your LoginServer.ini file. Also post your world/zone logs if you have them.

Change your world address to your public IP address.. the one that does not start with 192.x.x.x

Addresses that start with 192.x.x.x are unavailable to the public internet, as that set of addresses are reserved for LAN addressing.

Try it or dont, but if you're not hosting a server off of a public IP address, you'll not be able to connect to it unless you run minilogin instead.

Get everything setup properly.
Then boot world.exe - make sure it reports no errors and finishes what its doing before you boot the 5 zones. Make sure they finish w/o errors as well, then continue to try to log in.

Do this and post the output/logfiles as well as your fixed loginserver.ini

lol, just go to www.eqemu.net and download the DB addon and follow the readme in the zip file, that will take care of your mobs and npc issue =)
