Gives you an alternative experience to EQ game playing. First you have to a valid EQ installation on your system. Then you have a few choices, but since I haven't install eqemu in a while, I don't know if they are all still valid.

1. you can log into an existing emulator server. for this all you have to do is make a simple change to a file in your client directory

2. you can run your own server. this is trickier because you need to run mysql server and need to run the world and zone servers. The login server is located somewhere else.

3. you can run everything on your system, including a minilogin server and a few of your friend can join you in a game session.

All the information is available in the forum through those sticky notes that are posting at the beginning of the forums.

My recommendation is that you try #1 first just to get the feel of things.

Ahhh, ok, i get it now. I played EQ for about 2 years about 2 years ago. I wanted to continue to play, but I ran out of money and couldn't afford it anymore. Now I'm trying to get hooked up with one of the free servers with no luck. I still haven't figured out how to do it. I downloaded EQhost and EQW, and the patch's I just need to figure out how to get in. Well anyways. Thanks a lot for the info.
