Problem typing in chat window

Everytime I try to type a slash command or # command or just say something in the chat window it causes EQW to crash.... Is this a problem with EQW or am I missing something?

Well, using this template thingie, you already know what's happening and when. Here's the rest of the suggested info...

2) using Windows 98
3) to my understanding, I know have EQEMU 0.4.0
4) connnecting to Login/hosting eqhosts.txt
5) using EQW
6) I believe it's version 2.3
7) last patch from verant server was a few days ago...if you guys have a patch, I never got it since EMU 0.3.0

Intel P III, around 400 MHz (I think), 312 MB RAM, GeForce 2 32 MB vid card, cable connection, unknown sound card
