Default parsing spells_XX.txt

Hi!

Did someone know a tool to parse spells_XX.txt like the good old eqcaster.exe is parsing spells_en.txt?

I ask because eqcaster.exe isn't able to parse the file from the new localized (german, frensh) versions.

I'll take a look at it.. there could be several things.. like using , for ... no ascci characters.. but i don't see why the data itself would be that different.. besides the names

As far as i can see the structure is the same... unfortunately i totally lack any programming skills so i'm unable to write a parser on my own since eqcaster is unable to parse them.

You could just use the english version.. or the data on that one site.. Linda's? something.. its early and I can't remember.. you can grab the en from the patcher.. i haven't checked if they have the other versions on the main patcher or what.. the only provlem might be the anmes.. but with effect and level and class.. not hard to find the right spell

you talk about lucy... but that's not what i need. I have no problem at all parsing the english version the same way as lucy is doing it but that won't work with the german version at all.

As you can see they are ALMOST identically... i have no idea why i can't parse them the same way like the original version.

Could you attatch the spells_gr.txt and i'll take a look at it.. or just email it to kathgar@cox.net.. or harras me on irc.. I am rather stumped as well

Just out of curiosity, try copying and pasting the spells_gr.txt to your spells_en.txt (replace the english junk), and see what happens. If it doesn't work you can always change it back.
