problem with disco when you are in created select screen

hello,
when i try to make a character on all server i'm disconned 15 sec after and i cant created it.
how do?

It may have something to do with your patch version of eq. Telmet says his fully patched version works for him, but the eqfix just might be the way for most people.

Hmm try fully patching eq then go to the #eqemu channel on irc.eqemu.net and ask for an !eqfix. It should fix your problems. If not, your database has a problem and should probably be resourced.

i went to irc chanel loaded eqfix before. but it dont work
i have tell telmet on irc chanel , he says me to change my datarate.txt at 10.0 but i did have a datarate.txt in my EQ folder.
so i have created one with 10.0 in command ligne but it's same problem. :(

If you have a bad net connection or just a bad connection to the server then you are probably expeiriencing the same problem that stops all of us with bad connections from being able to play because we cant get past char creation. This bug has been around for a long time now, and ive seen a fair few posts about it, not much you can do now but just wait for it to be fixed (dont expoect a fix to come fast cos ive been waiting a long time now). While you wait you could create your own local server and play around on it, or just keep trying to connect to a server, youl eventualy get on.... just dont disconnect else you wont be able to get back on again

Anyway, what seems to happen with this bug is it gets to char select, then suddenly starts transfering data as fast as the connection will allow, then suddenly it stops.... the server just stops responding, and you eventualy time out and get dropped back to server select, anyone wanna try fxing this cos i havnt been able to play in a long time bacuse of it and i wanna play

(though i can play just fine on a local server).

Forgot to mention one thing: try setting your datarate.txt file back a bit (change it to a lower number) as this may help (dosnt help me at all though).

I dont have a datarate.txt file
i remember a LONG LONG time ago i had one
but i dont anymore
i only have kunark installed
any ideas what i need to get that file or why i dont have it in the 1st place?
