I just thought of a possible answer, so I'll start with the easy question: Can I connect to my own server, from the server, via public logon? Or do I need to use a different PC to run the EMU client?
Now, assuming I can run the client and the server from the same machine, here's where I'm at.
I'm running Windows XP Home, and am using a cable modem, but am behind a Belkin cable/dsl router. This is with the .4.3 code.
I noticed something odd about the way my system was behaving when I was following the instructions for setting up NAT. I went to the router and enabled BOTH Port Forwarding and DMZ for my PC (and have tried several combinations of these being on and off). I used the same ports as found in my boot 5 file:
Code:
start zone . 24.94.230.236 7995 192.168.2.33
start zone . 24.94.230.236 7996 192.168.2.33
start zone . 24.94.230.236 7997 192.168.2.33
start zone . 24.94.230.236 7998 192.168.2.33
start zone . 24.94.230.236 7999 192.168.2.33
When I ran the world.exe file and the boot5 file, I noticed that the ports for the Legal IP addresses were showing up as expected. However, the ports for the 192 address were being dynamically assigned in the 3000-3999 range. I'm assuming this is screwing up my port forwarding.
Am I on the right track here? If so, and you need the rest of my info, I'd be happy to post it. If I'm way off base, please say so, thats why I didn't post the rest.
Thanks.
