EQEMU Patcher problem

There must be a problem with the EQemu Patcher program or server, I installed it into the Everquest folder then ran the icon that it has created for me on the desktop.

a box pops up for 1 second then a second box saying cannot connect to patch server.

when I look at the icon properties that were created for me during the install process it shows the correct start in folder however the target says EQEmu Patcher

There is no call to any exe program and EQEmu patcher does not exist within my everquest folder.

There is something not right but it could be due to the installer not working.

any ideas ... no flames or silly answers pls

Same problem here. I've disabled my firewall, use DMZ, installed MDAC, done everything everyone has said to do.

Anyone know anything here?

I've just checked what patch.exe trys to do when launched. Here is some firewall info (i blocked it so i could get the data, normaly I would not block)

This one time, the user has chosen to "block" communications. Details:
Outbound TCP connection
Remote address,service is (www.foreverhacking.net(207.44.214.99),http(80))
Process name is "C:\Program Files\EverQuest\patch.exe"
