I have everquest patched up to date and can`t use eqemu

I have just discovered EQEMU but i have everquest patched up to yesterdays patch,friday 11th april.is there any way i can back date tthe patch so i can use eqemu? also does this program work with windows xp because i can`t even get the patcher to work,says it can`t connect.
