Default possible fault with eq windows latest version

I saved the new eqhost file then loaded up eqwindows 2.35a
and connect to to the eqemu login which returned a list of peoples server

I then decided to patch EQ using the EQEMU patcher to avoid the connection error.

this updated the following files :-

credits.txt
eqfecfg.cfg
eqgame.exe
eqgfx_dx8.dll
eqhost.txt
eqmain.dll
eqnews.txt

After the patch had completed I launched eqwindows like I did before but this time it opened the EULA splash screen
in full window and part of my desk top was flashing in the background expecially when i moved the mouse.

I clicked on the accept button and the full screen window minmized to a smaller windows producing a black screen.

any ideas , come on someone must know this ??

pls

p.s is there anyway of launching EQ without using eqwindows and ignoring the patching ?

See sig twice! Missing files fix and eqw 2.32 fix the problem. Read it, and if it doesn't work, read it again.

I looked at the both links on your sig, I read it... It did'nt work , so I read it again ... it did'nt work...

I'm not missing any files as the patcher worked fine for me....

The problem I am having is with eqwindows , I ran the fix but it made no odds.

I still get the black screen, If anyone knows the correct way round this I'd be very grateful.

You installed 2.32 into your EQ for emu folder and used it and it didn't work? 2.32 should work fine. At what point do you get the black screen?

these are the steps I took exactly

(1) use a working version of everquest installed within C:\program files/everquest

(2) download the host file overwritting the one in C:\program files\everquest

(3) run the patch server which updated around 55 files within my C:\program files\everquest directory

(4) download eqwindows 2.35a install in a folder C:\eqwindows , then run the eqwgfix

(5) run eqw and within the launch area enure it points to the correct folder c:\program files\everquest\eqgame.exe , also ensure that only the fix eqclient.ini is ticked.

(6) click on the start eqbutton

which results in a slightly flickerig ELUA splash screen prompting me to accept or cancel the agreement.

no matter where i click on the screen the EQW window shrinks to a smaller screen filled with a black inner window. This then hangs and basically does nothing.

hope this helps and also hope someone can help me with the above

Thanks

C'mon guys, it's right there in blue and white.

You need to install EQW version beta 2.32.

2.35 will NOT work. Click on the sig above to download v2.32.

okay the problem I have now is upon character selection the eqwindow is positioned to the upper left corner of the screen and I can only see about %70 of the window and unable to create characters because the option is off screen.

I tried to press control and enter and also drag the window but these options don't work. I also tried changing the screen rez on my video card control panel but that does'nt effect it much.

I am presuming that it may be something to do with the eqw.cfg file which currently is :

[General]
EQExe=c:\program files\everquest\eqgame.exe
FixEQIni=TRUE
[Hotkeys]
ReleaseMouse=Ctrl Alt R
ReloadIni=Ctrl Alt I
EQWSwitch=Ctrl Alt S
[Positions]
640by480X=127
640by480Y=55
1600by1200X=-263
1600by1200Y=-204
0by0X=0
0by0Y=0

would anyone know the best options for this ?

much appriciated

Delete the ini and let it make a new one?

1600by1200X=-263
1600by1200Y=-204

or change those to not be off screen

or use ctrl-alt-r to release the mouse and drag the window
