Velious Armor Confusion
Xott the Wizard [6/22/2001-7:41:05 PM] Comments[16]
Hail Norrathians!
I've received a few e-mails regarding Velious armor not looking the way it is supposed to. Please allow me to explain why this is.
First off, you must have installed the Scars of Velious expansion, obviously.
Secondly, in your everquest directory, there is a file named eqclient.ini. Open this file up in notepad or wordpad and verify that the following lines are there, and are set to "true" and not "false":
LoadVeliousArmor=TRUE
LoadArmor17=TRUE
LoadArmor18=TRUE
LoadArmor19=TRUE
LoadArmor20=TRUE
LoadArmor21=TRUE
LoadArmor22=TRUE
LoadArmor23=TRUE
NOTE:Turning on these options will increase the Everquest server load time. (This is the screen that comes up after you select your server). Don't be worried when you notice it's taking up to a minute longer than usual, it's just loading the armour. Well worth the wait IMHO.
If your still confused, feel free to post comments and I will attempt to help you the best I can. Alternatively you can e-mail me at

EDIT:
After e-mailing VI's CS department, I got this reply:
Hello,
Thank you for contacting Sony Online Entertainment Customer Service department. My name is Domenico Scaduto and I am pleased to assist you with your problem. After reviewing your email, I understand your issue to be Velious armor related.
These are the command lines that load all the Velious armor files. You should have the following:
LoadVeliousArmor=TRUE
LoadArmor17=TRUE
LoadArmor18=TRUE
LoadArmor19=TRUE
LoadArmor20=TRUE
LoadArmor21=TRUE
LoadArmor22=TRUE
LoadArmor23=TRUE
LoadArmor24=TRUE
These lines must be under 'defaults'.
So there you have it, If these lines do not show up in your EQclient.ini directory, you may want to add them, or contact VI's Coustomer Service at
eqtech@verant.com.
