Default backup EQ (major noob question)

hey, i just got into this whole eqemu thing and i was wondering why everyone says to backup my everquest directory. i found this out after installing the patch, eqwin, the readme.txt, and patching eq live for the first time. I was just wondering if i had to backup files because there's a possibility of damaging my hard drive or my computer system, of if it's just for updating purposes.

Default

you need to backup your eq dir incase you play on live eq and want to preserve the ability to play on eqemu

but its all a moot point if you have patched it since 12/2002

i think this should be in the instructions somewhere

imagine the questions we can head off at the pass
