Correct Forum for Patch Server workaround

What would be the correct forum for me to post the workaround for the patch server being down (as in getting to EQEmu after a sony/eq patch has run or after installing an expansion, etc.

We had to do it... took me almost an hour to figure it out (must be getting old)

As far as I know, there is no workaround way to get patched without patcher. At least, there is no way that would keep you out of trouble.

Whether it can be done or not is not in debate. The truth of the matter is that pacher is no more. Distributing files that way was questionable legally, but distributing files from one person to another is described as warez. Distributing those files will get you banned, just like you are already. Please stop saying there are ways to get the proper files without patching. You only stir more trouble for yourself.

I was trying to find this out with the original question (proper forum) rather than announce the method openly <hint>.

We seem to have another problem to deal with anyway, so dropping this subject and working on the hack problem with tar2k3's forum account ... I've advised him to change his password and drop the fruitless discussion about it.

I don't think he was hacked. I think a board admin changed his text so that it wouldn't give away his technique. Text is changed all the time by devs who want to censor information that will get everyone in trouble. You both have been censured (the ban titles) for being too vocal about a technique that should not happen. Don't spread it around. He's not hacked. He's just been censored.

Hey, it was an honest mistake. Don't worry about it. Please, just try to obey the rules, and maybe the devs won't keep you banned. Try being helpful, but within the rules of the boards.

No workarounds.
