Default (Ongoing)Mob Texturing/Design

Hi there.

I saw winds post about needing models, and am quite intrigued with the project. Started this thread to continually update my progress / post new models as they are finished.

Right now i have a dinosaur model that im looking to get textured. Will be working on some myself(though im not the worlds greatest), but starting this thread to offer anyone the chance to design textures for the mobs.

Heres the dinosaur right now, no textures and normals not set up (hard edges) - maby you will recognize him from the game...

Now... heres the texture maps.

arms

legs

body

teeth

To texture these, just save the picture - open it in some image editing program and put the texture on the mob... since its a low-ish polygon model, most of the detail comes from the textures. Meaning... eyes/muscles/cuts/ bleeding... etc - PM me a link when ur done and ill apply.

Simple enough.... few things though - on the legs, near the claws at the bottom, the claws are layed out, in order. And the arms have little peices off to the side... these are the second claw. Just gives the ability for more detail.

Default Fay model finnished

So I was able to get the fay creature done (next starting on custom mobs) or possibly... bears /shrug.

Once i get him textured, im going to attach the wings and such... so ignore that...

Will post more models as i can, but will hold off on posting texture maps for now. If anyone is interested in texturing a mob, just send me a PM and ill send you the maps.

Going to love to see these guys in action.

Gotta figure out a simple way to rig him and then presto !

Nice, I can see it looking like an EQ NPC already - with that eq style.

When I do UV texturing, my workflow goes like this -

I create textures for various body parts and fit them onto the models within Truespace 7.5. If it does not fit right, I remake the texture in PSP.

Things like eyes I hand draw and paste onto the model, but the model needs a quad shaped like an eye, which I model in.

Good work

Without the limbs, that could make a nasty underwater beasty.
