Default Playing EQ EMU from scratch

Off of a clean install of EQ I used eqwindow, after fixing eqhost.txt and changing my data rate, and had no problem running EQEMU. Have all the people that have had problems tried going off of a clean install? If your problem is that you have patched the latest version, then it cant do any harm to try because you can simply repatch through EQlive to the latest version. I am playing EQEMU fine now after about 30 mins for install/setup. GL
