Simple Question
Hi, I'm new to Eqemu and want to get started. I found the 'how to play' thread, but was wondering what necessary downloads there were before doing that. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

if yo read the "how to play", you'll see that you don't need to download a thing to play on (most) servers.
1. Backup your EQ directory.
2. Simply edit the files as explaind, and run the "eqgame patchme"
there might be an issue at the moment due to recent patching o EQ live. Read the many posts about this

Have you patched since the 10th? If so, you wont be able to play until the devs get it working with the newest patch... Otherwise you dont need to download anything to play.. It says it all in the guide.. .
Are you patched up to the newest version of eq BEFORE the 10th patch (ie... 1-14-2004, I think or somewhere like that is the newest patch). The reason I asked, is that if you are new and have JUST installed EQ and not patched at all you wont be able to play either. Kind of a catch 22 if you started after the 10th patch huh?

Hmmm. So what is the solution to this? I am going to have to install EQ on my computer first, so how would i patch up?
Again, thanks.

EDIT: Oh, ok. Generally how long does it take for a new version to come out?

there is no solution except to wait until eqemu is updated to be compatible with the latest patch.

As long as it takes. Anywhere from a few days to a month plus. Don't ask, it iwll be released when ready and not before.
I make that at least 12 in 3 days, wize_one
