Default OpenZone zonepack 1.5

I've added a new zone to the zonepack, which I call the Canyons of Gur. I've also opened up my OpenZone server so you can log in and try it out if you want. It's up to you to discover where it is... :P

Some useful notes:

1. Each zone has been shifted to accommodate sounds, so you *must* replace all of your zones if you have an older zonepack.

2. Make sure you have ZoneProxy 1.3 running before you start your client, and make sure port 8800 is being forwarded to your LAN IP address if you have a firewall/router (read the MOTD).

3. Start a character somewhere in Faydwer, since the only way at the moment to get to the new zones is to click the PoK book outside Felwithe (I could add more PoK books but haven't gotten around to it).

4. There is a PoK book in one of my zones that will take you back to GFay, so don't worry about getting back.

5. The new zone is fairly well populated, complete with loot tables and a named mob that occasionally spawns. You will need to make a map as you go or have a decent sense heading skill, or you *will* get lost. Be wary of mobs around corners...

6. If you go in the canyons at level 1, you're *really* taking your life in your hands. The zone is designed for levels 8 and up. I think the highest level mob in the zone is 35, but most top out at 18.

P.S. I'll be firing my client up after I write this, so I'll be on for a little while if people want to come and visit...

One other thing -- if you want to hear ambient sounds, you should make sure to edit your third party zones text file that comes with ZoneProxy so each of the new zones is listed:

windszone
zone1
gurcanyons

It's because you were camped in a zone that I later shifted. I moved you to gfaydark, and when you zone in to one of my zones again you'll be fine. I'll have to do the same for anyone else who is camped in one of my zones as well...but we already taked about it ingame :P

Well Shadow-wolf came to visit and we had a good time (and a long talk)...I'll be leaving the server up all night and maybe Sunday, if anyone else wants to come in and explore. One concern we had was ZP support for 0.5.5. Now that the diffs have been posted, is there any chance ZP support will make it into the next version?

Well anyway, it's late, and I need sleep...feel free to fire up ZP and come on in. My server is based on 0.5.3-DR3, so you'll need a compatible client. There are three rather large zones in here, fairly well populated with mobs (Shadow-wolf can attest to the strength of the named mob I put in :P ) If you want to remember what it's like to explore a place you've never been before, this is the place...

It's because I'm running my client and Delphi and I'm doing actual development on the server...the server lives on my dev box :P
