Using a seperate machine for MySQL

Ok, I was messing with the emu for awhile on this PC and want to use the MySQL database and everything I already have setup on this comp.

My other comp has linux on it and I got the emu all set up but don;t feel like figuring out mysql in it. I set the db.ini to point to this PCs IP and set the correct l/p for the DB. One problem though, the emu won't connect to the database I get access denied but I can connect using mysql -g 192.168.1.3 just fine.

Anyone know what I may be doing wrong?

Post your db.ini.

FYI you have some issues ahead of you on the networking side of things to get the eqfrags login server to see you correctly.

Here's my db.ini pointing to my PC with MySQL on it.

host=192.168.1.3
user=Speedy
password=testpassword
database=eq

Well assumeing that you are using the correct username and password. and the Database IS named "eq".

I guess post exactly what world.exe is saying when you try and start it.

Also post the results of c:/eqemu/world flag emu 200

The problem is that mysql database's by default only allow connections from localhost.. If you want to run the world/zones on another box, you have to set the permissions to allow a incoming connection from a different host..

Look at the sticky in this forum (win32 support). It will fix your problem..
