Draclian Signus
**EDIT** Our new site is/will be http://www.dracliansignus.org
Draclian Signus is dead for at least two days. Our site has been hit by a virus and we need to work out organization plans for our dev server. The database has also been non functional for a few days, causing zones to crash, making the server very unplayable. When we come back, I promise you all a lot of updates that you will enjoy. Sorry for the inconvenience, I hope you all will be patient as we work on this problem.

FAIL? Hmm...I can see there are people here that would prefer Draclian Signus to not succeed in becoming a server that rivals or even becomes more than some of the bigger servers in EQEmu...which it is obviously fast becoming.
For the moment, Draclian Signus if the most stable server I have experienced and, despite not having 70 players like most of the bigger servers that have been around for a long time, it has in the past, averaged more than 40 players at a time... At the moment, people can say, "Who cares", but how long has Draclian Signus been around?
I'd like to suggest that people stop being so eager to watch Draclian Signus die and start focusing on their own servers. Your jealously seems to be giving you a small sense of insecurity and makes me feel as if you are being immature about the whole situation.
Hopefully people will start to scroll down that serverlist and realise that Draclian Signus might soon be up there with them and unless they provide a little more content to their own servers and make it a little more stable, they'll be trailing behind it.
You seem to want competition...don't complain when you get it.

So..... uhm.. the most stable server eh? Im guessing the reason that its the most stable server is because you only record the time it is phyiscally UP aye?

Actually the only time it is really down is when they are making updates, not because of technical problems. Ya sometimes there will be technical problems, like all servers, but there haven't been that many. I play on the server and seen it hold 20 people in a zone all in one area fighting one big mob, without the zone crashing, and I would say that is pretty damn good.

Oh yeah, and I'm supposed to know a virus was coming.
And by the way, every server has downtime. GuildWars and Winter's Roar don't have so much now because they are more complete than us. I'm simply talking about player max, bandwidth, etc when I say the most stable.
Just because we've never had over 50 people doesn't mean we can't hold four to six times that many.

No, in fact I don't host the server in any proximity to my home. Krusher hosts our server. As for the website, a virus has been hitting webservers worldwide, and unfortunately has downed ours for quite some time.

I wouldn't be so sure of that until you've load tested, I'm pretty sure guildwars and wr have some custom packet compression etc.
While other people coming into the thread insulting is pretty childish, it's also bad to boast about being the most stable when it's never been proven.

imo we can out-user any other server. We have 1.544 MB and up BW allowance, as well as a T1 connection. At 8k per user we can hold quite a few users, if you're smart enough to do the math yourself.

So, uh, Draclian Signus, have you ever given thought to the entire "Go die" being a self-created situation? That if you hadn't gone out with trumpets blaring howling "We are the best! We are the stablest! We will kick all your asses and steal all your players!" you wouldn't be met with such a hostile attitude?
Shortly after GW2 came up, it was basically like this. GW2 had 100+ players, WR about 30, the other servers had 10-. Then I (and some other servers) started siphoning players. I got a lot of stability issues worked out on WR, and it got more popular. I was never given the "lol die" attitude by image or anyone else, except a rabid GW player or two coming online to ooc "olol this server is suk bluebies"
But then, I never felt a need to wave my virtual wang in everyone's faces. I was quite content to barely even advertise for a full year of the server, and instead spend my time on improving it. It wasn't until the end I advertised, on a few off-EQemu sites (I think 2 or 3 forums), as most players came to WR by word of mouth.
If you go at the world with an attitude of being the biggest, meanest and best there is around, you will get attitude back.
Personally, I think it's a shame. I know how frustrating crashing issues are, and having a virus ruin your work must suck. I'm not sitting here hoping for DC to die. But seriously. If you're disliked by other server admins, it's because you brought it onto yourselves.
