Default Server Not Responding / Disconnected

Ok. First off, KUDOs on the tutorials for setting up a server and running a game on the same PC. Nice work.

Here's my issue. I log in with the mini-login server fine. Create a character ok. Then I hit "Enter World", the hard drive runs for a moment and then the screen goes black and says :

The Server is Not Responding

then

Disconnected.

Any ideas? I get no error messages when running the login, world or boot5zones. I am running EQEmu 5.6 on a Win XP Pro system. 1GB RAM, 2Ghz cpu, TI 4600 Geforce video card with DX 9 installed. I have all of the expansions for EQ except GoD.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Post the contents of your World and Zone.exe's AFTER trying to create the character.

Also, make sure you've downloaded GoD using the EQPatcher (Advanced Options -> Check GoD).

Also make sure you sourced a Database correct.

Default Got it working....New question

I got the disconnect problem to go away. Dumb me didn't see that when using the minilogin to use 127.0.0.1 address instead of localhost. So anyways, I log in now and stay in the world fine.

However, I notice that when I zone, I drop items at random. I might drop my armor or my backpack filled with food, or several items at once. Then they might re-appear the next time I zone. Any known fix for this?

Also, zone mob spawning seems weird. Some zones, like Paludal Caverns, are completely empty. No mobs at all. Any ideas?

Thanks again. I'm having a blast.

That could mean..

a) ..your DB doesn't have that much content (only sourced 'basic' files)
b) ..someone didn't collect enough info on EQLive :)

Default Database

I downloaded the MW055alpha_02 database and used that. Is that DB nearly empty? and is that what is causing items to be dropped when zoning or just what explains to mobs in POP zones?

Try dropping your eq database and sourcing this file: http://www.raskii.net/eqemu/eqemu055.sql.zip.
It's not quite as up to date as it should be but that's because I can't get my local EQEMu server to work :( It should run fine on 0.5.6 servers though.
