Default EQW fixed 1017 for me...

'eqgame patchme' used to work fine, but on this latest version I had to use eqw (which meant setting my desktop down to 16 bit, but hey) to get away from the 1017.

I'm posting this because I'd read on the boards that it might help - I'm just saying that it DID help.

Well think of it this way.. "eqgame patchme" was never ment to be used by anyone other than the verant dev team.

There is probably something in the code that makes the loginserver talking to eqgame differant. no clue why.

actally its a way to tell eq that patcher has patched it and is legally running eq client. im sure people wasntr supposed to know how to run eq without patcher.

I know... Im having lots of server setup problems. I fixed this one. And the otherone I wa having trouble with. And a third. Now Im on my fourth... for today. Apparently Im not sending any authentification to the zone server... "GetAuthentification = 0". Then I get dropped back to server select.

It helps me think at least, this emulator.
