EQEmu dont like when someone exprimate its opinion, aka saying to stop flaming because he has the feeling of being offended, so a new rules asking to say stop flaming is posted on the board ?

And tomorrow, you wont like when someone will say "This is not the appropriate section of the forum to post this", so you will add a new rules asking to not say "This is not the appropriate section of the forum to post this" because they are not flagged as moderator, and dont have the right to say it ?

Adding rules like this because you dont like when someone is saying something is a childish attitude.

You know , I have tried to curb myself on going off on this little faggot you developers like to call a moderator , However one can only take so much of this chilldish behavior from one that trys to act so old ...and not doing a very good job at that either. I am so sick of seeing this guy Melwin open his mouth to only have horseshit fly out of it . alot of the people that come here and try to play EQEMU are kids that cant afford to pay for EQLIVE and/or there parents wont pay for it . I have been around here for along time , yes even longer then my name may be known , I was once known by another name , I have seen alot of stuff go down on here and alot of hard work put into this project , I have alot of respect for the Devs doing this all for free and on thier own time and like it so much that I usually try to keep my mouth shut about most things and I dont even like to ask questions too much so I DO use search . I am seeing this Melwin character as being a person that likes to be heard more then he likes to listen and I find that to be a fatal flaw towards being a good moderator .

most moderators are never even heard from , they just do their job and stay back stage , they do NOT ALWAYS come to the forfront everytime someone asks a question in the wrong forum or asks a question that a simple search would have found and begin their /flameon routine like you do .

The forums are in pretty bad shape. It can't all be blamed on one person. The fact is that people who first come to a forum usually either (a) post the same way they have always posted on other forums, like b.net or even russian literature international discussion; or (b) mimic the way they see the other users posting. So we've got most of the new people coming in that aren't as saavy as some of the people who have been here a while, because it's easier to find out about this project now than it was even a year ago. This, combined with the negative attitude most people have on the forums already, makes for just a bad situation that will be difficult for any moderator to overcome.

Yes, most people here post with an obviously angry or egotistical tone. I'm not excluded. You don't even have to be posting, "OMG UR A N00B3" "OMG STOP FLAMING" to fall into this category. So the real problem is the attitude that people are getting. Back to those who may be new to the forums; these are indeed kids who enjoy eq but cannot afford it, and may not know how to respond to the kinds of brute and non-productive advice that is given out here. The ub3r l337 people who are most vocal are most likely just trying to fit in with the others here who have answered and reanswered questions for the ones before them and are tired of it.

Solution? Lets stop the negative replies. We have all done it, but it's the people who have been here the longest that need to start setting the example of what we want the forums to be like. Personally, I don't even use the forums unless I really need to find the answer to something or I feel like reading garbage. It's time to clean up.
