Default Dreadspire .map?

Does anyone know if there is a .map file for dreadspire available yet? I looked around briefly, but wasn't able to find anything.

Angelox put a new map pack up at his site (which should include Dreadspire):

Dreadspire should be in the eqg_maps.tar.gz file on Angelox's site as mentioned here:

All these new maps I posted are improved/better maps - if you haven't got them yet, you should get them all and overwrite what you have (.S3d's and .Eqgs).

Hope this isn't a noob question, but could someone either explain or point me to a resource that explains the purpose of the server side .map files?

I searched a bit and found zilch. Does the .map file contain waypoints or is that in the db along with spawns, etc? Does it do "collisions" for the server to compute the xyz of a mob/npc?

Thanks
