If you lost your password, then you will just need to make a new account. There is no way to recover the old password.

No way to recover it? but who handles the Logns and pass issues then? that just cant be right...LS doesnt send and email to your account telling you your other pass just the forum access one... but it sure asks your current one in order to change it even tho you are logged with your own account ? I dont understand this..

No one. Just like Trevius said:

Passwords are stored as a hash, not the plain text password. That way, even if you hack the database, there isn't any easy way to get your password. That's why, if you forget your password for your bank, they can't just send it to you, you have to create a new one.

Although there may be a way to set it up so a loginserver password could be reset, it would require access by the host of the server to make the change (who has access to the code for the forums), who isn't really around all that much. Not only that, but since it just piggybacks the forum, it would require coding out the logic to send the E-mail, create a link that could be interpreted, etc.

I'm not trying to scold or bitch, I just want to make sure you (as well as others that may read this post) know that this information is freely available through the forums. This question has been asked many times before, and at this point is essentially a dead horse. Just perform a search for "forgot password" and you'll see several results, including these:
Although the search function on the forums isn't exactly great (it's pure and utter crap imo, Google helps a lot though), it does serve a purpose.

Hopefully this clears up the confusion.

The recent reset was for Forum Accounts only, not for Login Server accounts. Those are 2 separate things.

Hopefully once we move to the new host soon, we might be able to get some changes done to a few systems. I think one of the top priorities should be a way to recover Login Server passwords. As long as you are logged into your Forum Account, you should be able to do a reset on your Login Server password for any of your Login Server accounts on that Forum Account. That is not currently the case, but that is how I think it should ideally work. There really needs to be some overhauls done on the website and the wiki at least, but it would probably take the work of a few people to do it all.

I have never seen a single person confirm that they were ever able to get a Login Server account password reset or changed. That doesn't mean it is completely impossible at this point, but I do think it is pretty unlikely to happen. Again, hopefully that will change in the future at some point.

vBulletin is written in php, it would be almost trivial to create an addon to reset your LS password (assuming the website continues to use vBulletin for its forums).

We can reset pws but it's rather tedious and don't like doing it, really don't forget them imo. I don't have access to the box atm to do it but I should soon.

Rogean wants to redo parts of the site and with that I'm going to try to muscle through some more controls for login accounts so it's not an issue.

Default 2 pw corrupt after resetting another

Hello Trevius,

After resetting a character-PW, the PWs of my other 2 toons are suddenly corrupt/unavailable/errored ???

Is there a problem on the server with logins/PWs ??

With kind regards,
Alrazor
