Default Returning after a logn time away

Not sure where to post this but I've been away for about a year or more now, and was wondering if the two things I wanted most where in the server code yet, them being evolving items, and instance zones.

If there not in is anyone even working on them?

I've been waiting for these two features forever it feels like, and I'm to much out of practice to try and code them myself at the moment, I'd have to get into EQemu code base again, and it's not pretty!

Though I haven't really played with it yet, I believe some decent instancing was added a few months back. I am sure that nothing has been done for evolving items yet. I never played live when evolving items were around, so I know nothing about them unless you count stuff like charms that scale stats as evolving. Doesn't seem like it would be overly hard to make items that can "evolve" if evolving just means that the stats change depending on the evolve level the item is at. But, I am not aware of anyone even thinking about working on them atm. Most of the devs already have their hands full right now too, so I wouldn't hold my breath for them if I was you :P

Acully evolving items are even easier then that, evolving items gain XP and once they gain a certain amount of XP the are basically replaced with a different item auto-magically that is suppose to be the next part of the evolving line.

I still play live from time to time, but have not had enough personal time with evolving items to know if they gain a XP based on what you gain, or if it more like leadership XP and based of from how many kills you have, I'm thinking the later.

Also, I know of at lease types of evolving item, the other type gains XP based on successful tradeskill combines, this also is what makes me think they other kind is based of number of kills, not acully XP.

But either way I don't see this to hard to do.

Either way I know this is now in the wrong thread.
