Default can't login; error says eqhost file is missing!

My shortcut is C:\EverQuest_for_eqemu\eqgame.exe patchme
and when i run this, it asks for the username and pass. If i find the target, i can see eqhost.txt in that directory, and that file consists of the line "[LoginServer]
Host=eqemulator.net:5998"

What am i doing wrong? Later on, i might try uninstalling and reinstalling. I don't understand why the error states that the eqhost file is missing.

Exact error is "Error 1010: No host was found! Check that the file EQHOST.TXT exists in the everquest directory"

there's no spaces. there is a newline.
"[LoginServer]
Host=eqemulator.net:5998"
is it exactly, as it stands, inside the quotes.

If you are getting all of the way into servers sometimes now, but seeing lots of crashes, it is probably because you have a multi-core CPU. Try checking the related section of the FAQ in my sig for possible solutions to that problem.
