Default Going Linkdead and the wierdest problem ever

Hey, I have a friend playing on my server, it is on a lan, and my computer is the host of the server. I'm using Minilogin, which uses IP's instead of accounts for the characters. Now here is my problem:

My friend is playing in "The Hole" zone, he is a gm, and trying to learn about what he can do. he is using #invul, and casting a spell called acid blast using #cast <spellid>. Monsters were coming at him like crazy, then he went linkdead. No problem, we just assumed its one of those things.

Here is where it gets CRAZY! He finally gets off the YOU HAVE BEEN DISCONNECTED. Screen to find that he is on another friends account, the other friend is also on the network (The server is a dedicated LAN server). He see's her characters, and has an opportunity to log into them. He logs out, logs back in and his characters are there. About 15-30 minutes later, he goes linkdead again. While he is waiting, my other friend zones, when she finishes zoning, she finds herself in his character, getting beaten by monsters in the hole, and when he gets to the character selection screen, he is once again on her account. We have dedicated IP's on the LAN and no one is using DHCP.

Help?

sounds like you need to asign the ip's to solve this problem
i do recall seeing a program to solve this problem on this server.
i'll look for it and post a link when i find it again. also sounds like
you have a router that is changing the ip on you is called config
the router then goto network settings and set the ip's to that
computer.

I understand why you are thinking that, that would be my assumption, but like I said, I have DHCP disabled, all the pc's on the LAN have static IP's.

Are they both playing from the same house/IP? I know for sure that people using the same account to log in multiple characters from the account can have that exact same problem happen. And, mini-login works kinda weird about how it handles connections from the same IP. You would be better off using the actual login server (public one or the private one that comes with the source code) instead of the minilogin IMO.

Um... No, one is connecting from 192.168.0.1, one is connecting from 192.168.0.2... Unless of course you mean the outgoing IP instead of the network ip. But that doesn't really explain this case, anyways, how do I use that?
