Default giving an item to an NPC

[Debug] [WORLD__INIT] CURRENT_WORLD_VERSION:EQEmulator 0.8.0
Rev 1771

Whenever I give an item to an NPC, they will accept the item but I don't get any quest updates or rewards. I'm sure I've missed something in the setup but I can't for the life of me figure out what it is.

Thanks!

Just curious, when you hail them do they respond with their quest text ? My thought path may be off here but I think in the emulator you have to start back through the quest text before handing them the required item. I may be wrong but I thought I tested this a while back.

I tried that an it still doesn't work. The NPC takes the item and then doesn't say anything.

Give some more information about the quest, the NPC and what item you are handing him. Should be pretty easy to look at the PERL script.

It's doing this with the two newbie quests I've tried in Gloomingdeep. One is the swimming quest with Poxan and the other is the weapon ?quest? where you give your weapon to Absor and he improves it for you. I am now weaponless.

Just bear with me (I'd rather ask you dumb questions than overlook a simple solution)...

You have downloaded the Quests SVN?

You have moved the "plugins" folder out of /quests and into your server's main folder?

No problem. I figured it was something dumb that I had overlooked.

Normally I pride myself on my ability to read and follow instructions. Apparently I'm slipping in my old age. Completing this step the problem.

Thanks! I really appreciate both the assistance from both of you!
